    A display of panels from the Loving Earth project will be on display in the windows of the Refill Shop and  next-door café from 18 September to 25 September .

  • Loving Earth panels at Maryhill Burgh Halls

    A selection of Loving Earth Project’s textile panels will be on display in the foyer of Maryhill Burgh Hall during COP 26 and in the weeks before it.

    Come and see some beautiful textile images in different styles made by a variety of people in around the world, about some of the things they personally love, what needs to happen to avoid damage to them from climate and environmental breakdown,  and what the panel- makers are doing to help.

    What do you love?  You can also add your own contribution to the installation of Loving Earth postcards at Maryhill Burgh Halls.

    Free.

    Opening times are generally Monday – Friday (10am – 6pm). Please see the Hall website for updates and more details.

    An exhibition of Loving Earth Project panels from our collection will be held at St Mary’s Church in Wendover, as part of  Great Big Green Week, from 18 to 25th September.

    The exhibition opening times are as follows:

    • Saturday 18th September: 12.00-17.00
    • Sunday 19th September:   12.30-17.00
    • Weekdays:                         11.30-17.00
    • Saturday 25th September: Workshop 11.00-16.00
    • Sunday 26th September:   12.30-17.00

  • CURIOSITY, CREATIVITY AND THE CLIMATE

    Join this Zoom event, organised by Christian Aid Scotland, exploring how creativity can inspire us to change the world.

    We’ll be talking with people who advocate for climate justice through creative practice. The panel of guests includes:

    • ID Campbell, UNESCO artist
    • David Coleman, Chaplain for Eco-Congregations Scotland
    • Dr Anna Fisk, climate activist, theologian and knitter
    • Rev Kathy Galloway, poet and hymn writer
    • Linda Murgatroyd, Quaker Arts Network and Loving Earth Project co-ordinator
    • Seonaid Knox, Prophetic Activist for Christian Aid, will guide our creative and curious conversations.

    Sally Prendergast and David Blackmore will be jointly running a free Loving Earth workshop at St Mary’s on Saturday 25th September 1100-1600,  in conjunction with the exhibition of Loving Earth panels at the church. This will provide an opportunity to reflect on the issues raised by the exhibition and to respond individually and creatively.

    There is no need to book – just turn up, enjoy some reflective conversations and start sketching out some ideas. Tea and coffee will be served.
