    A large exhibition of Loving Earth panels will be held in the Quaker Centre and downstairs corridors of  Friends House, as part of a series of events in London during the autumn.

    The Quaker Bookshop at Friends House will  also be selling Loving Earth project books and cards. , 

    Normally open during office hours on weekdays.   Associated events include a launch and poetry reading on 5th October and interactive workshops on climate issues on 2 December.

    This event launches the  Out of Excuses poetry book and exhibition of textile art, to be held in the Quaker Centre and corridors of Friends  House.

    A selection of poems from the book will be read by the poets.

     

    Free, but please book your place via Eventbrite in advance .

    Refreshments from 4pm;
    Welcome speeches and poetry reading from 5pm.
    The bookshop will remain open until 7pm

    The Loving Earth Project will be exhibiting a large number of textile panels in the Crypt at St John’s as part of a series of Loving Earth events in London this autumn.

    This exhibition will be part of St John’s  Exploring Spirit festival, linking up with Black History Month in October, the season of Remembrance and InterFaith Week in November.

    An opening event will be held on 19th October. The exhibition will be open on selected weekdays from 9am to 5pm, on Sunday mornings, and on selected evenings, but this will depend on other events at the church.

    A large exhibition of Loving Earth textile art panels will be on show at Applecart Arts Centre along with associated events.

    this new arts centre in the London Borough of Newham is in the lovely ( and lively)   Passmore Edwards building, a former public library.

    The Exhibition will be open in line with Applecart's cafe opening times from Thursday 2nd November 2023 to Thursday 7th December 2023.

    The Exhibition will be closed on the following dates due to private functions:
    7th November 2023, 9am - 13:00pm
    11th November 2023, 13:00pm - 17:30pm
    17th - 20th November 2023, All Day.

    Two different kinds of workshops will be on offer at Friends House today. The building will exceptionally be open for a few hours on a Saturday, so you can visit the  Out of Excuses Loving Earth exhibition.

     

     

     

    A Climate Fresk workshop in the morning will be hosted by London Quakers.  Learn about the science of  science of climate change in this interactive workshop .  over ! million people have discovered this  a  great way to build confidence in your own understanding of the science and to fill gaps .

    In the afternoon, an Active Hope workshop, based on the work pf Joanna Macy and Chris Johnstone, will take place in the Quaker Centre, run by Alison Maitland . Timing  and booking details will be posted here in due course.

    Both events are open to all and you'll need to book in advance.  Expect interesting conversations, a measure of emotion and horror but  also greater understanding and to come away empowered  and inspired for the future.

    This is also an opportunity to visit Friends House to look at the Out of Excuses exhibition of Loving Earth textile panels.  This isn't  always open on Saturdays but we expect it to be open at least between 10 and 4 on this occasion.
