1 | 2 - Green Libraries in Merton
All day 2023.10.02-2023.10.07  Merton libraries will be celebrating Libraries Week from 2-8 October, the theme this year is Green Libraries, focusing on sustainability and climate change. As part of the celebrations, Wimbledon and Morden libraries will have displays and workshops in partnership with the Loving Earth Project. Some of the textile panels on display will be those made at previous workshops in Merton libraries. All day 2023.10.05-2023.12.22 173-177 Euston road, London NW12BJ  A large exhibition of Loving Earth panels will be held in the Quaker Centre and downstairs corridors of Friends House, as part of a series of events in London during the autumn. The Quaker Bookshop at Friends House will also be selling Loving Earth project books and cards. ,
- Loving Earth poetry book launch event at Friends House, London
16:00 -19:00 2023.10.05 173-177 Euston road, London NW12BJ  This event launches the Out of Excuses poetry book and exhibition of textile art, to be held in the Quaker Centre and corridors of Friends House.
A selection of poems from the book will be read by the poets. Free, but please book your place via Eventbrite in advance . Refreshments from 4pm; Welcome speeches and poetry reading from 5pm. The bookshop will remain open until 7pm

15 - Here for Justice: Why the Loving Earth Project?
11:45 -12:30 2023.10.15 73 Waterloo Road London SE1 8TY  As part of St Johns Waterloo’s interfaith series of Exploring Spirit events Linda Murgatroyd will give a short talk about the origins and purpose of the Loving Earth Projet , followed by a Question and Answer session. All day 2023.10.19-2023.11.28 73 Waterloo Road London SE1 8TY  The Loving Earth Project will be exhibiting a large number of textile panels in the Crypt at St John’s as part of a series of Loving Earth events in London this autumn. This exhibition will be part of St John’s Exploring Spirit festival, linking up with Black History Month in October, the season of Remembrance and InterFaith Week in November. An opening event will be held on 19th October. The exhibition will be open on selected weekdays from 9am to 5pm, on Sunday mornings, and on selected evenings, but this will depend on other events at the church. 29 | 30 - Breathe meditation with music, poetry and meditation at the Loving Earth exhibition in Waterloo
18:00 -18:45 2023.10.30 73 Waterloo Road London SE1 8TY  The Regular Breathe meditation sessions on Monday evenings invite reflection on spiritual writings from various traditions, and using music, poetry and silence to create space for contemplative connection with the spirit. This short service will follow a common format but each time, we’ll use different music, poems and readings and contemplative practices from various traditions. 100 panels from Loving Earth Project are currently on displaying the Old Crypt at St John’s and this will be an opportunity to reflect more deeply with them. 19:30 -20:30 2023.10.30 73 Waterloo Road London SE1 8TY  “To see a World in a Grain of Sand And a Heaven in a Wild Flower, Hold Infinity in the palm of your hand And Eternity in an hour.” This event is part of the Exploring Spirit Season at St John’s. Mark Vernon is a psychotherapist and writer, with a keen interest in ancient philosophy, as well as the illumination of inner life. His writing covers subjects from friendship and beliefs, to wellbeing and living in the modern world. He’s currently working on a book about local artist William Blake and his talk will look at Blake’s understanding of spirit, mysticism and the natural world. REGISTER HERE.
